Our 49th Season Program will feature our signature mix of wind instruments, strings, harp, and piano.
Continuing our multi-season focus on the Sonatas of Claude Debussy, we will turn to the Sonata in D for cello and piano. Our selection from the chamber music of the Schumanns will include the Adagio and Allegro, originally for French horn and piano.
We will feature former principal oboist of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Richard Woodhams, in Joan Towers’ “Island Prelude” and the quintet by Arnold Bax, both for oboe and strings
Enjoy Trios for flute, cello, and harp by Claude Damase and Leopold Stokowski, the legendary third music director of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
We will also present Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s duo for flute and cello
Last, for the strings, there will be a large work by Johannes Brahms and a quintet by Antonín Dvořák.
